Our Story
A small independent studio in Winnipeg, Manitoba — building free holographic column entertainment for Canadian adults since 2024.
WinnipegFalls started as a question: why does free entertainment so often look and feel like a lesser version of its paid counterpart? We are a small independent studio based on Portage Avenue in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and we believed that free social entertainment deserved the same quality of visual design and mechanical craft you would find in a professionally produced studio experience.
We are not affiliated with any real-money operator, we hold no provincial gaming licence, and we have never sought one. WinnipegFalls is a technology entertainment company — we build things because we find them interesting to build, not to create financial pressure for the people who use them.
The column metaphor — playing columns of symbols, aligned paylines, animated reveals — is one of the most recognisable interactive formats in the world. Hundreds of millions of people are familiar with the visual grammar of a playing grid. We asked what would happen if that familiar format were stripped of every financial mechanic and redesigned from scratch as pure entertainment.
The answer is the WinnipegFalls holographic column engine. Seven distinct symbols rendered with gradient fills, animated glow rings, and fluid 60 fps transitions. A WIN PORTAL BONUS ROOM mechanic that creates a genuine surprise — a complete change of context, symbol set, and rules within the same session. Twenty virtual paylines across a 5×3 main grid, nine bonus paylines in the 3×3 bonus arena. It is visually rich, mechanically surprising, and entirely free.
We do not accept deposits. We do not issue withdrawals. We do not store personal data beyond what is strictly required to serve this page. We do not sell advertising space. We do not profit from the time you spend here — this platform exists because we wanted to build something worth building.
We do not target minors. Our age gate is a self-declaration mechanism that requires visitors to confirm they are 18 or older before accessing the platform. If you are under 18, this content is not intended for you.
Even free-play entertainment can develop into a compulsive pattern for certain individuals. We take that possibility seriously. We partner with Gamblers Anonymous, the Responsible Gambling Council, Gambling Therapy, and GambleAware — four organisations that provide free, confidential support to anyone who feels their relationship with any form of gaming activity has become unhealthy.
We display the Manitoba Problem Gambling Helpline number (1-800-463-1554) on every page of this platform. We have never removed or hidden this information for aesthetic reasons, and we never will.
"We built WinnipegFalls to answer one question: what does genuinely free, high-quality entertainment look like when you remove every financial incentive? The answer turned out to be surprisingly interesting."
— WinnipegFalls Studio Team, Winnipeg MB
We measure success by whether we were honest about what the platform is and whether the experience was genuinely enjoyable — not by session length, retention rate, or engagement metric. Those are not our goals because they should not be.
WinnipegFalls is maintained by a small team of developers, designers, and game mechanics specialists based in Winnipeg. We do not publish individual names publicly — our collective work is on the platform itself.
